Coordinated Community Resources Assistance Network
The system is targeted to community service providers, healthcare providers, and first responders. It is currently being targeted to improve access to services for vulnerable adults, mainly elder abuse victims, but will be expanded to assist the larger victim services community.
Our initial IRB-approved testing showed a decrease in emergency room returns and also that we need to do more to address the needs of those who still cannot access services even after the referral. The next phase includes the use of a service concierge to work directly with the vulnerable adult in a higher level of intervention.
FUNDING
In Calhoun County Michigan, in close partnerships with the Area Agency on Aging. State funds were used for a portion of the project, namely the technology development, and a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is supporting the testing of the interventions.
