The Homemakers and Health Aides provide essential assistance with the goal of keeping older people with disabilities self-sufficient in their own home environments. Conversation and socialization with the individual is an important though frequently unspoken aspect of this service. The Aide may be one of the only contacts the client has with the community. Every effort is made to send the same Aide each week who gets to know the client and who knows when something is amiss.
